On August 30, a job training for beet harvesting operators took place at a PPO location in Lelystad. (PPO stands for Praktijkonderzoek Plant en Omgeving, which translates into Practical research Plant and Environment) The training was organized by the Cumela, in partnership with the IRS. (IRS stands for Instituut voor Rationele Suikerproduktie, which translates into Institute for Rational Suga production) In the morning the theory of harvesting was treated, where Frans Tijink from the IRS explained what is needed in order to obtain a perfect harvest result. And that the beet harvest operator can make a big difference in it. The training was given in the field with four different beet harvesters. Agrifac participated with the Big Six and Doeko Blaauw from Agrifac gave the explanations. A total of 14 drivers from Agrifac participated in the training around the Big Six. At the end of the day the drivers each received a certificat of participation.
